Fellow Arrowmen,

What are you doing this summer? Sitting at home and playing video games? Why not go to a national forest and spend a week venturing the wilderness with your brothers? Well, you can! This summer the Order of the Arrow is pairing up with the United States Forest Service to hold 5 weeks of service at 5 different national forests with 5 thousand Arrowmen as participants. Rightfully so, the program has been named ArrowCorps5 (AC5).

This program is a once in a lifetime experience! AC5 is the biggest service project ever run by the Order and even the Boy Scouts, so why not be a part of it?! Here are some of the particulars.

The national forests include:

Mark Twain National Forest
June 7-14, 2008 | Missouri

Manti-La Sal National Forest
June 14-21, 2008 | Utah

George Washington & Jefferson National Forests
June 21-28, 2008 | Virginia

Shasta-Trinity National Forest
July 12-19, 2008 | California

Bridger-Teton National Forest
July 26-August 2, 2008 | Wyoming

Although the main purpose for AC5 is to show an example of leadership in service to our beloved national forests there are also many FUN recreational activities offered at the 5 sites. These activities include: whitewater rafting, mountain biking, water skiing, horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking, mountain climbing, fishing, and visiting a dinosaur quarry are only some of the recreational activities that you will be able to participate in.

If you want to leave your mark in history, then sign up now! Section NE-1B is anxious to send a massive contingent to one (or many) of these national parks. Please contact Adam Hoy (hoyfamily@comcast.net) if you would like to sign up for this program, because if you don’t go this year you will not have the chance ever again.

Yours in Brotherhood,

Greg Burke
